• पदवी = degree (graduation), grade (स्त्री नामपदम्) -- १० वर्षाणि अभवन् - सः अभियान्त्रिकीं पदवीं प्राप्तवान् (He received his engineering degree a decade ago).
  
• उद्योगार्थम् = for the sake of employment, to do something (to earn) (अव्ययम्) --" देवेन्द्रः उद्योगार्थं पूर्वम् एव अन्यदेशं गतवान् " इति तस्य माता उक्तवती (His mother said, Devendra went abroad to earn some money).

• शकटिका = cart, some vehicle (स्त्री नामपदम्) -- आपणात् सः भारं शकटिकया आनयति (He carries the groceries by the cart from the store.)
  
• उचितम् = worthwhile, appropriate (नपु विशेषणम्) -- परीक्षार्थी उचितानि उत्तराणि उक्तवान् (The student responded appropriately).
  

२१ सप्टेंबर् २००५

• स्थानीय-समयः = local time (पु नामपदम्) -- यदा अहं भारतं प्राप्तवान् तदा तत्र स्थानीय-समयः आसीत् रात्रौ अष्टवादनम् (When I reached भारत it was 8 PM).
• अवतीर्य = having climbed down, after getting off (अव्ययम् ल्यबन्तम्) -- रथात् अवतीर्य महाराजः मुनेः दर्शनार्थं गतवान् (Getting off the Chariot, the King went to see the saint).

• मदीयः = mine, belonging to me (पु विशेषणम् ) -- मदीयः ग्रामः इतः दूरे अस्ति -- (My village is far from here) (similar to मम) (बहुवचनम् = अस्मदीय) a related word is "भवदीयः/या" which means (sincerely) yours.
  
• भेदः = difference (पु नामपदम्) -- हंसबकयोः कः भेदः ? -- (How can one identify a swan from a duck?)
  

१६ सप्टेंबर् २००५

• पश्चात् = following (it, something) (अव्ययम्) -- देवपूजापश्चात् राजा मुनिगृहं गतवान् -- (Following the worship, the king went to see the saint.) (अनन्तरम्)
  
• अनुमति: = admission, agreement, permission (स्त्री नामपदम्) -- नाटकानि दृष्टुं तस्य पितुः अनुमति: नास्ति -- (His father will never allow him see any stage-art.)

• वाहिनी = channel (स्त्री नामपदम्) -- अमेरिका देशे दूरदर्शन-क्रीडावाहिनी जनेषु अतीव प्रिया -- (The US loves sports channels on the TV).
  
• लघुनिद्रा = nap (स्त्री नामपदम्) -- प्रवासेन श्रान्तः सः विमानस्थानके एव लघुनिद्रां कृतवान् -- (Tired of travel, he took a nap at the airport.)
  

१० सप्टेंबर् २००५

• उत्तरदायित्वम् = responsibility, duty (नपु नामपदम् ) -- " मम मातुः आरोग्यम् इति इदानीं मम उत्तरदायित्वम्" इति नरेशः उक्तवान् -- (Naresh said that his mother's health is now his responsibility.)
  
• संशयः = doubt, uncertainty (पु नामपदम्) -- वनगमनसमये "कैकेयी दुष्टा" इति संशयः अपि रामस्य चिंतने नासीत् -- (At the time of his departure for the वनवासः it didn't even occur to rAma that KaikeyI is wicked.)

• पूर्णकालिकः = full-time (पु विशेषणम्) -- स: संस्कृतभारत्याः पूर्णकालिकः कार्यकर्ता अस्ति (He is a full-time volunteer of संस्कृत-भारती.)
  
• प्रगत-शिक्षणम् = advanced-education (नपु समस्तपदम्, नामपदम्) -- देवदत्तः गणित-विषये प्रगत-शिक्षणं प्राप्तवान् (Devadatta received advanced education in math).

५ सप्टेंबर् २००५

• रोमाञ्चकता = Excitement (स्त्री नामपदम् ) -- अहं क्रीडास्पर्धाया: रोमाञ्चकतां अनुभूतवान् (I enjoyed (experienced) the excitement of sports-tournament).
  
• कार्य-योजना = Plan of Action, Scheme of things to be accomplished next (स्त्री नामपदम् ) -- विरामं स्वीकृत्य स: अग्रिमाया: कार्य-योजनाया: विषये चिन्तितवान् (He rested and thought about what to do next).
  

४ सप्टेंबर् २००५

• इन्द्रियम् = (human) Organ (नपु नामपदम्) -- प्रवासेन मम इन्द्रियाणि श्रान्तानि आसन् (My entire body was tired because of the journey).
  
• अग्रिमः = Next (पु विशेषणम्, स्त्री - आग्रिमा - नपु - अग्रिमम्) -- अग्रिमः छात्रः आगत्य गुरुं नतवान् (Next student saluted the गुरु).
  

३ सप्टेंबर् २००५

• गौरवः = glory (पु। नामपदम् ) -- राजा अशोकः गौरवं प्राप्तवान् (King Ashoka achieved glory).
• प्रसार: = spread (पु नामपदम् ) -- संस्कृतस्य प्रसारः भवतु (Let there be spread of संस्कृतम् )

कञ्चित् कालं विरामं स्वीकृतवान् अहम् पुनः प्रारम्भं करोमि

०९ आगस्ट् २००५

• भ्रमर: = a bee, large black one. (नामपदम्, पु अन्य: संस्कृत-शब्द: "द्विरेफ:") --भ्रमर: कमलं गच्छति, कमलात् मधु स्वीकरोति (Bee collects honey from the lotus).
  
• आदिनम्, आसप्ताहम्, आरात्रि: = whole day, week, night etc. (अव्ययम् ) -- अहम् आदिनं कार्यं कृतवान् ह्य: (Yesterday, I had been working the whole day) --- आसप्ताहं सङ्गीत-कार्यक्रमः प्राचलत् (The music festival went on for a whole week) -- आरात्रि: मम प्रतिवेशिनः कोलाहलं कृतवन्त: (My neighbours made noise the whole night (last night, for example).
  
• प्रतिवेशी = neighbour, next door residents (नामपदम्, पु विद्यार्थी इव शब्दः, मूलपदं "प्रतिवेशिन्" इति स्त्रीलिङ्गे भवति "प्रतिवेशिनी") --- मम प्रतिवेशी मया सह मित्रम् इव आचरति (My neighbour is a good friend of mine).

• विद्यमानः = present, incumbent, available (नामपदम्, पुंल्लिङ्गे। स्त्रीलिङ्गे रूपं भवति विद्यमाना, नपुंसकलिङ्गे - विद्यमानम् ) --- अद्यतन-कार्यक्रमे कृष्ण-शास्त्रिमहोदयः अध्यक्ष-रूपेण विद्यमानः अस्ति --- द्वारात् बहिः द्वारपालः विद्यमानः अस्ति
• वर्धनम् = growth, development, rise. (नामपदम्, नपु ) --- ज्ञानस्य वर्धनं कर्तुं प्रतिदिनम् अभ्यासः आवश्यकः
  

०७ आगस्ट् २००५

• कुत्रचित् = somewhere (This is the indefinite pronoun which is created when any of चित्, चन, अपि is appended to interrogatives like किम्, कुत्र ---) --- भवन्तं कुत्रचित् दृष्टवान् अहम् (I have seen you "somewhere").
• अनुसृत्य = having followed, according to (This is the "ल्यबन्त-रूपम्" for the धातु: (अनु) सृ So, this is semantically similar to "गत्वा", "नीत्वा", "ख़ादित्वा", the differences being the धातवः with "उपसर्गाः" where "ल्यबन्तम्" is used. Thus, this is similar to "आगत्य" (having reached, having come) , "आनीय" (having brought, after bringing something ...), "आरुह्य (having mounted)", "उपविश्य (sitting, having sat)" etc. --- सीता रामम् अनुसृत्य वनं गतवती --- नियमम् अनुसृत्य वाहनं चालयन्तु --- उदाहरणम् अनुसृत्य उत्तराणि लिखन्तु
